Anemia is a common disease among women. It occurs when the absence of blood reduces the hemoglobin level in the body. Vitamin deficiency anemia occurs due to a lack of healthy red blood cells in the body and is caused by lower-than-usual amounts of Vitamin B-12. This deficiency can occur if your body doesn't have enough B-12. 

4. Sickle cell Anemia

Sickle cell anemia occurs because of an inherited disorder known as sickle cell disease, which affects the shape of red blood cells. The cells help carry oxygen to all body parts, and because of the disorder, there are issues. 

Symptoms of Anemia

There are mild and worse symptoms of anemia. It is difficult to notice the slow symptoms as they develop slowly and take time. 

Symptoms that develop slowly:

  • Feeling weak or tired 

  • Irritation

  • Numbness in hands and feet

Causes of Anemia

1. Iron deficiency

The most common kind of anemia can occur due to a shortage of iron in the body. The bone marrow needs iron in order to make enough hemoglobin in the body. If there isn't enough iron, the body cannot produce the proper amount of hemoglobin for the red blood cells. If there is an absence of iron supplementation in the body, then anemia can occur and cause issues. 

2. Blood loss

Blood loss is another factor that can cause anemia. You tend to lose the red blood cells that are present in the body because of bleeding, and it happens over a long time period. It is difficult to notice this as the symptoms start to show up later on. Heavy blood loss can also cause severe anemia over time. 

3. Bone marrow problems

If there are any bone marrow issues, then it can keep your body from producing enough red blood cells. If there aren't enough cells, then anemia is caused. It happens over time but is harmful to the body as it leads to various kinds of issues.

5. Day sleep

If there is improper sleep or less sleep, then it can lead to improper digestion and metabolism, which can further cause various deficiencies and result in anemia. 

6. Heavy exercise

Exercise is good for the body, but excessive exercise can cause mental strain, loss of sleep, indigestion, and other issues. 

7. Medicines

In some situations, anemia can occur because of certain medicines. There are medicines that can harm the blood cells which produce hemoglobin in the body, and it can further cause anemia.

1. Anjeer milk

In order to treat anemia and increase the hemoglobin in the blood, you can consume anjeer. Anjeer is rich in iron and helps in producing more hemoglobin in the body. It is recommended to boil anjeer and cardamom in milk and then drink one glass before sleeping. Drinking this twice a week can help with hemoglobin production in the blood cells. 

2. Ghee

Ghee can help balance the pitta dosha, which can further treat the root cause of anemia. It is recommended to consume 10 ml of ghee early in the morning on an empty stomach for better results. 

3. Consume lots of fruits and vegetables

Consuming fruits and vegetables with appropriate supplements is crucial for an anemic patient. They should only consume fruits that are rich in nutrients like iron and Vitamin C because it helps with treating anemia.
