We are a technology-enabled one-stop-shop for Ayurvedic products belonging to categories such as Immunity, Digestive Health, Sexual Wellness, Mental Wellness and Bone and Joint Health. Zandu's products are guaranteed 100% vegetarian and bear the hallmark of the 5000-year-old science of Ayurveda. In fact, over the years, Zandu products have become the most loved and widely used products in over 5 crore households in India, accessible through 2 million outlets.

R&D behind Zandu’s products

Last year, the company spent about 22 Crores on Research & Development. The R&D activities specifically focus on developing new products and improving existing methods.
All these activities contribute to achieving higher levels of quality, improved consumption of raw materials, and a reduction in wastage.

One of the significant areas of improvement is packaging, for
more convenience. Their primary emphasis, however, is and always will be on delivering innovations through Ayurveda science. Furthermore, the company is also concentrating on a higher utilization of eco-friendly or recycled packaging options. The R&D Lab has undertaken massive initiatives toward
sustainability practices.

Our Manufacturing Facilities

With 7 manufacturing facilities across India, we are focused on delivering best product without compromising on quality. We deepened our environment responsibility using renewable energy and eco-friendly processes. We also work with different manufacturers, leveraging our experience in the manufacture of select products. We implemented advanced and automated technologies that helped optimise production.Our
quality control comprised periodic testing and inspections at state-of-the-art quality laboratories at all manufacturing units. It embarked on long-term manufacturing consolidation and participated in Quality Circle/ Kaizen competitions where it won more than 20 awards.

Each ingredients is hand-picked and checked for quality. The Company also focuses on strong procurement supply chain, ensuring business continuity by localizing raw material procurement.

Quality Assurance

The Company has initiated the benchmarking of industry relevant quality management systems with that of leading FMCG players. Strengthening quality system guidelines, benchmarking standards with National and Global Quality and Regulatory standards for building and maintaining excellent systems and processes, digitised critical quality processes through workflow management tools, SAP automation, web application tools, cloud storage and technology tools, end to end digitalised quality training and learning management etc. It also created defect classification standards based on pack formats and enhanced defect observations by conducting market visits by the Quality team.

Packaging & Supply Chain

The Company improved its supply chain productivity through a Statistical forecasting tool, a rough-cut capacity planning tool, and an integrated sales and operations planning process. The supply chain management approach aligns with core organizational objectives, using OGT tools to strengthen equilibrium distribution planning and dashboards to measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Technology is employed to enhance supply chain performance, with periodic reviews to address bottlenecks, streamline operations, and mitigate risks. The digitized transport management system enhances cost-effectiveness.
